The DEIS says that the road to Bushnell would have a moderate impact on the hiking experience, but any eight-mile road can only have a severe impact on the hiking experience. The DEIS says that the road to Bushnell would have a moderate impact to back country camping. Yet an eight-mile road would destroy eight miles of back country…The day area at the end of the Bushnell road at Bushnell, would offer a new day hiking experience and access to the back country. But this eight-mile road would destroy a huge area of back country. The Bushnell alternative is euphemistically referred to as the partial build. There is nothing partial about an eight-mile road and there is nothing partial about the destruction it would cause.
